UPDATE | Man charged with holding-up Gold Coast McDonalds

UPDATE 9/10/16 6:49AM | A man has been charged over a dramatic hold up in Broadbeach.

A 32-year-old from Edens Landing was briefly treated in hospital after he was tasered on Saturday.

He has since been charged with enter premises and commit indictable offence, two counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and obstruct police officer.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 10.

EARLIER 8/10/16 6:07PM | A MAN has been tasered and taken into police custody after he allegedly held up a fast food restaurant on the Gold Coast.

The man, said to be aged in his 30s, allegedly stormed into a McDonalds on the Gold Coast Highway at Broadbeach on Saturday afternoon.

It’s alleged the man threatened staff and ran off with a stash of cash but he didn’t get far.

Police caught up with the robber on Surf Parade where he was tasered and taken into custody.

No charges have yet been laid.
