UPDATE @ April 28 2018 9am | A man will face court, accused of trying to kill an elderly woman and her son during a frenzied stabbing in the Southern Queensland town of Hervey Bay.
The 39-year-old from Lismore, west of Tweed Heads, was charged with attempted murder at a bedside hearing on Friday night.
It’s alleged he went to the home of the 50-year-old man and 82-year-old woman, who he knows, around 9.15am on Friday, and stabbed them both in the neck.

Police were called to Mungara Court in Wondunna, after the pair managed to run from the home and flag down passing motorists.
They were transported to Hervey Bay Hospital, where they underwent surgery and are now in recovery.
The Lismore man is expected to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today.
EARLIER @ April 27 2018 12pm | A CRIME scene has been set up at a Hervey Bay home after a man and woman were stabbed this morning.
Around 9.15am, police rushed to a house on Mungara Court in Wondunna after receiving reports two people were suffering from stab wounds.
A man aged in his 50s, and woman aged in her 70s, were treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Hervey Bay hospital.
One is in a serious condition whilst the other is in a serious but stable condition.
A man, aged in his late 30s, is currently assisting officers with investigations.
Police say the man is known to the pair.
