UPDATE | Police release rego in search for woman after GC dad gunned down

UPDATE @ December 4, 2016 7:30AM | Police have released the rego of the car that is possibly being driven by the woman who may have witnessed a deadly shooting in Carrara.

They have been looking for the 31-year-old (pictured below) since Jason Boyd was killed on Friday.

She is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 172cm tall with a proportionate build, blue eyes and heavily tattooed.

The woman may be driving a white 2008 VE Holden Commodore sedan Queensland registration 261 MSL (similar to vehicle pictured below) believed to be linked to the homicide.

18-year-old Nerang man Taylor Ruatara faced the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday on a charge of murder and was remanded in custody.

UPDATE @ December 3, 2016 6:20AM | A man has been charged over the shooting death of a 41-year-old man at Carrara on Friday morning.

The 18-year-old from Nerang walked into Southport Police Station on Friday afternoon and has been charged with one count of murder.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police still want to speak to a woman, believed to be his adoptive mother (pictured below).  She may be travelling in a white Holden (like the one pictured below).

UPDATE @ December 2, 2016, 1730:

An 18-year-old wanted over the shooting murder of a man at Carrara this morning, has handed himself in to Gold Coast police.

The teenager walked into Southport Police Station at 5:00 this afternoon and surrendered.

Dozens of officers, including members of the anti-bikie Task Force Maxima, are still looking for a 31-year-old woman who was with him.

The 41-year-old man was gunned down just before 9:00 am on Friday.

EARLIER:| Police are warning us not to approach a shooting suspect, who is on the run after leaving a man to die in Carrara on Friday morning.

The 41-year-old victim died at the scene before 9:00AM.

Police have released images of a man and a woman who may be able to assist with their investigations.

The 18-year-old man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, approximately 175cm tall with a proportionate build, black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on the right side of his face.

The 31-year-old woman is described as Caucasian in appearance approximately 172cm tall with a proportionate build, blue eyes and a tattoo on her neck.

The man and woman may be travelling together in a white Holden sedan similar to the one pictured.

Police believe the man may be armed and are urging members of the public not to approach the pair or the vehicle and to immediately call Triple Zero (000) if they are sighted.

Around 8:45am police were called to a Riverbend Avenue address after reports of a man being shot.

A 41-year-old Carrara man was later declared deceased at the scene.
It is believed all involved were known to each other.

EARLIER 11:51AM | Police investigating a deadly shooting in Carrara, are looking at possible links to outlaw motorcycle gangs.

A 41-year-old was shot dead on Riverbend Avenue before 9:00AM.  There is a shed on the property, that Police say it would appear the victim was living in.

Detective Inspector Marc Hogan said Police want to speak to several witnesses including an 18 year old man.  He is aproximately 172cm tall and of Pacific Islander appearance.

He left the scene in a white Holden Commodore sedan possibly a V-E and may be travelling with a woman.

Detective Inspector Hogan confirmed they are investigating links to OMCG’S, which means Taskforce Maxima Detectives have been called in from Brisbane.

Detective Hogan stressed the investigation is in its very early stages.

Police are expected to provide a further update in the next couple of hours.

UPDATE 10:14AM | A shooting victim has died in Carrara.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics arrived at the scene on Friday morning but didn’t transport the victim to hospital.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.

EARLIER 9:58AM | A man has reportedly been shot in Carrara.

Police were called to Riverbend Avenue at 8:45AM.

Paramedics are also there.
