UPDATE: Teen charged over alleged Cowards Punch
UPDATE: A TEENAGER will face court after allegedly punching a man near the Coolangatta Hotel early Friday morning.
The 18-year-old was arrested in the hours following the alleged attack, which saw a 40-year-old man suffer a fractured skull.
He remains in a critical condition in Gold Coast University Hospital.
Police say the teenager was involved in an altercation with another group of people around 2.30am, before moving away and coming to blows with the alleged victim.
EARLIER: Paramedics have had to revive a man after he was assaulted while trying to break up a fight in Coolangatta on Friday.
It’s understood they performed CPR on the man after he went into cardiac arrest on Marine Parade around 2.30am.
According to Queensland Ambulance Service, the man was a victim of a ‘coward punch’.

The victim, 40, was taken to the Gold Coast University hospital in a critical condition with fractures to his head.
It’s unknown how many people were involved in the fight.
