URGENT HELP: Missing man believed to be on the Gold Coast

Police are appealing for urgent help to find a 75-year-old man reported missing from Townsville, but is believed to now be on the Gold Coast.

Jair Pickholz was last seen at 8.30pm on Sunday October 25, at a home in South Townsville.

The elderly man is believed to have since travelled to the coast, with reports he may have been in Surfers Paradise today.

“Police hold concerns for his welfare as leaving his residence for this amount of time is considered out of character,” Qld police said.

Mr Pickholtz is known to frequent public transport and may be travelling up and down the Gold Coast.

Jair is described as of Hungarian descent with a distinctive accent, approximately 155cm tall, with grey hair and likely has a medical dressing on the crown of his head.

Anyone who has seen Jair or has information regarding his location is asked to contact police.
