URGENT RECALL: Popular pasta sauce pulled from shelves

A popular pasta sauce has been recalled across the country over fears it may contain metal and plastic.

The recall involves the Leggo’s Fresh Napoli Sauce with Tomato, Garlic, Basil & Oregano in 250g containers.

The pasta sauce has been available for sale at Woolworths supermarkets nationwide and has a best before date of 02/10/2021.

According to Food Standards Australia, the sauce has been pulled from shelves due to the potential presence of foreign matter (metal & plastic).

“Food products containing metal and plastic may cause illness/injury if consumed,” the recall notice says.

Consumers have been warned not to consume the sauce and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
