Urgent search after life jacket found off North Stradbroke

Police are appealing for urgent help to find the owner of a life jacket and fuel tanker found floating off North Stradbroke Island.

A member of the public discovered the items off Main Beach around midday on Wednesday.

They then handed the items, described as a red 25-litre fuel tank and a purple and black ‘Essential’ branded life jacket, into police.

Water Police, Polair and North Stradbroke Island Volunteer Marine Rescue personnel are currently co-ordinating a search off North Stradbroke Island.

Anyone who recognises the life jacket or fuel tank is urged to contact police immediately.
