US child predator caught in Japan moments before boarding a plane for Australia

An American child predator has been arrested, moments before he boarded a plane in Tokyo, bound for Australia.

28-year-old Alexander Bowers was tracked down after an international manhunt.

Australian, US and Japanese authorities combined with Interpol to hunt down Bowers.

The operation began last week when agents discovered he had travelled to Japan, ahead of a planned trip to Australia.

He’s accused of molesting a boy in Illinois for about four years, starting in 2008 when the victim was nine-years-old and Bowers was 20.
