US police locate body of ‘Glee’ star Naya Rivera in LA lake

Police in the United States have confirmed they’ve found the body of ‘Glee’ star Naya Rivera, who went missing while swimming in a lake with her son.

On the sixth day of searching, police uncovered a body in Lake Piru, where Ms Rivera had disappeared last week.

It’s understood she’d rented a boat with her four-year-old son to go exploring the lake last Wednesday afternoon, but hours later, the vessel was found with just her son on board.

He said that his mother had gone swimming but hadn’t returned to the boat.

The Lake was immediately closed off the public as emergency services scoured it in search of the 33-year-old star.

At nightfall, the rescue was called off, with recovery efforts commencing the following morning.

A body was found at the lake earlier today, with police immediately getting in touch with Ms Rivera’s family, before confirming to the Hollywood press that it was her body.

“Physical characteristics of the body, clothing found on the body, and the physical condition of the body, as well as the absence of any other persons reported missing in the area, we are confident that the body we found is that of Naya Rivera,” local officers confirmed at the lake later on.

Ms Rivera is the third member of the ‘Glee’ cast to pass away.
