US President Donald Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
The US President Donald Trump has another chance to join the likes of Martin Luther King Jr and Mother Teresa, after he was formally nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Norwegian politician Christian Tybring-Gjedde put forward the nomination, for Trump’s work on the recent peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
It’s only the third peace deal between the nations since 1948, after Israel agreed to suspend its plans to annex part of the West Bank.

It’s not the first time that Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, with the same Norwegian politician also nominating Trump back in 2018.
That nomination was for Trump’s efforts to reconcile relations between North and South Korea, but he didn’t get the prize.
It will be at least another year until the winner is revealed, and if Trump wins, he’ll be the fourth US President ever to have achieved it.
Previous President Barak Obama was the last to win it, back in 2009.
