The City of Gold Coast wants to reduce the amount of cars on our roads by encouraging more of us into walking, car-pooling, public transport…and now bike sharing.
And right now they’re asking for our input on a draft, Active Transport Plan for the city.
Mayor Tom Tate says: “Every time you choose to travel actively, that’s another car off the road. Not only will it help ease congestion, but we will have a more active and healthy Gold Coast.”

The draft Active Transport Plan includes the possibility of a bike share scheme for the city.
“Bike sharing is where you pick up a bike from point ‘A’ and drop it back later, or leave it at point ‘B’ – they’re popular in thousands of cities around the world,” Mayor Tom Tate said.
“We are the city of active wear, let’s also be known as the city of active transport.”
