Would you use a bike-share system on the Gold Coast?

The City of Gold Coast wants to reduce the amount of cars on our roads by encouraging more of us into walking, car-pooling, public transport…and now bike sharing.

And right now they’re asking for our input on a draft, Active Transport Plafor the city.

Mayor Tom Tate says: “Every time you choose to travel actively, that’s another car off the road. Not only will it help ease congestion, but we will have a more active and healthy Gold Coast.”

The draft Active Transport Plan includes the possibility of a bike share scheme for the city.

“Bike sharing is where you pick up a bike from point ‘A’ and drop it back later, or leave it at point ‘B’ – they’re popular in thousands of cities around the world,” Mayor Tom Tate said.

“We are the city of active wear, let’s also be known as the city of active transport.”

Have your say on the draft Active Transport Plan – and go in the draw to win your own bike – at the Gold Coast’s Have Your Say website between now and 5 May 2017.
