Ute rams Mermaid Beach jewellery shop in failed robbery
THE OWNERS of a Mermaid Beach jewellery shop have been left counting the cost of an overnight ram raid.
Police were called to the Gold Coast Highway business around 1.30 this morning, with reports a person in a silver Toyota Hilux tried to smash into the store several times.
They failed to gain access to the business and fled south in the vehicle, which has a silver tray.
Police want to speak with anyone who can identify the person responsible.
