Venomous baby brown snake found hiding in child’s lunchbox

An Aussie mum has received the fright of her life, opening her child’s school lunchbox to find a venomous baby brown snake inside.

The woman made the shock discovery while she was packing her child’s lunch at the family’s Adelaide home on Monday.

An Adelaide snake catcher posted a photo of the reptile hiding in the lid of the lunchbox to Facebook.

“A photo sent in for an ID today  A hatchling brown snake found a hide out in a child’s lunch box!” they wrote.

“Not really what you expect to see when you check if your child ate their fruit.”

It’s understood baby brown snakes can be just as venomous as their parents.
