Police attended a Dandenong South property around midday on Monday and asked the 30-year-old, who was wanted on warrants, to leave the premises.

He refused and locked himself inside the premises.

Police were unsure whether the man was armed and evacuated the neighbourhood as a precaution.

The Special Operations Group officers rammed the house three times in an effort to force the man out.

At about 6.30pm, SOG officers smashed the front window of the house in yet another effort to drive the man out of the house.

It was reported that police attempted to coax the man from the house by ramming it and were using a loudspeaker to speak to him.

They told him to “do the right thing” and walk to the front door, after he had “been inside for a long time now”.

It’s believed he was finally taken away in an ambulance about 9.30pm.
