VIC: Veteran police officer in court over on-duty murder

A VETERAN Victorian Police officer has faced court on Wednesday, charged with the murder of anotehr man while he was on duty in 2013.

Vlado Micetic, 44, died following an alleged struggle with the officer about 10.30pm on Sunday 25 August, police say in a statement.

It’s understood Micetic was fatally shot after he allegedly pulled out a knife.

Timothy Baker, 46, a Leading Senior Constable from the Southern Metro Region, faced Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday following a lengthy investigation by the homicide squad, which was oversighted by professional standards command.

Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton is expected to brief the media about the details on the case in Melbourne this morning.
