Victoria faces another lockdown extension after another 25 local cases

There are fears Victoria’s lockdown will be extended another week again, with case numbers refusing to subside.

There were another 25 cases diagnosed overnight, with less than half in isolation for the full infectious period.

Over 32,000 tests were conducted, while over 23,000 vaccines were administered.

Next Friday, it will have been two weeks of the state’s sixth lockdown, but local media reports a third week is just about guaranteed.

The Herald Sun reports that experts expect the lockdown to have its desired effect in the numbers soon, figures would have to drop off dramatically if the lockdown were to end in five days time.

Victorian authorities are expected to provide further information later this morning.
