Victoria records 19 coronavirus deaths for second day in a row

Victoria has once again reported another grim day of coronavirus numbers, with a further 19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

It’s the second day in a row that the death count has been that high, with the record number reported yesterday as well.

The details around the ages of the fatalities are yet to be released.

The Victorian Government has this week switched to reporting daily infections and fatalities via Twitter, ahead of a later press conference.

Over the last 24 hours, another 331 cases were diagnosed, bringing the total amount of infections within the state past the 15,000 mark.

The state’s death toll now sits at 247, while the national toll is at 332.

The Premier and health officials are to expected to provide more information later this morning.
