Victoria records 6 new coronavirus cases, 10 in total yesterday

There have been another 10 cases of coronavirus diagnosed in Victoria this morning, as the state wakes to its fifth lockdown.

Four of the new infections were reported late yesterday, meaning there have only been six new cases overnight.

While over 33,000 people came forward for testing in the last reporting period.

It comes as the whole state begins its fifth lockdown, a snap five-day pause that will hopefully act as a circuit breaker.

Authorities are desperately working to contact trace, reporting yesterday that one of the two strains is moving ‘aggressively’ through the community.

Seven rings of contacts had been tracked down and quarantined as of yesterday.

Authorities are expected to provide more information about the new cases in today’s update.

 

 

Reported yesterday: 10 new local cases and 1 new case acquired overseas (currently in HQ).

– 33,129 test results were received
