Victoria records another 148 infections, 8 more deaths
It’s been another low day of cases for Victoria, with 148 new infections reported overnight.
It’s not as long as yesterday’s seven-week record of 116, but still shows numbers are slowly dropping.
Victoria now has over 18,478 coronavirus cases in total, with 3,731 still considered active.
Meantime, another eight deaths were also reported overnight.
The ages and gender details are yet to be released, with health authorities due to provide their update later this morning.
It brings the state’s coronavirus death toll to 438, and the national toll to 525.
It comes as the state announces it will try to extend the state of emergency another 18 months.
