Victoria reports a new record number of deaths overnight
Victoria has reached another deadly record today, with 21 new deaths reported in the last 24 hour period.
It follows two days of 19 deaths reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 267.
Age and gender details are yet to be revealed, with health authorities to stand up later this morning.
While Victoria has recorded 410 new infections overnight as well.

The figures come amid alarming revelations it could be weeks before the death reports subside.
We’re being warned fatalities will likely continue to rise, even as infection numbers begin stabilising.
Health Minister Jenny Mikakos admitted to Victoria’s Public Accounts and Estimates Committee yesterday that that will be the case.
“There will be a time lag in terms of the number of fatalities and that will take longer,” she said.
