Victorian man pleads guilty to murdering Masa Vukotic

ALEX HEINKE reports.

A man has admitted killing Melbourne teenager Masa Vukotic while she was on her nightly walk in a park near her home.

Sean Christian Price, 31, pleaded guilty to one charge of murder over the fatal stabbing of Ms Vukotic, 17, in March.

He entered a plea of not guilty to rape relating to a separate victim in the Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

Prosecutor Michele Williams told the court Price would plead guilty to the rape charge. But when the time came to formally enter a plea for the rape charge Price said he was not guilty.
“I don’t want to plead to it because I didn’t do it,” Price told the court via video link.

“They’re playing games,” he said, before launching into a rant, prompting Magistrate Charles Rozencwajg to warn him he would cut the audio on the video link.

Price also pleaded guilty to one charge of robbery, while other charges of robbery and assault were withdrawn.
