“Having celebrities to share their experiences on social media is a really effective way to encourage Chinese tourism here,” Gold Coast Tourism CEO Martin Winter said.
“Having Xiao Wen enjoy the Gold Coast’s healthy lifestyle by participating in the city’s signature event, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, is a great way to showcase what we have to offer to people in China thinking about a trip to Australia.”
China is the number one source market for international visitors to the Gold Coast.
Almost 300,000 Chinese visited in the 12 months to March 30, an increase of 9.5 per cent over the previous year.
