The video was released a week after the San Bernardino tragedy,  which left 14 people dead and 21 injured. It also comes just days before the third anniversary of Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

Everytown for Gun Safety have issued a call out on their website for viewers to upload their own messages of support.

“Sometimes, ending gun violence can seem impossible. But this movement is defined by its resolve — and what we’ve proven over and over is that if we come together, we can save lives. Speak up for a future free from gun violence by lending your voice to the “We Can End Gun Violence” video.”

“Every action, no matter how small, helps us build safer communities and a brighter future. Together, we can end gun violence.”
