Currumbin has once again been transformed into an incredible outdoor gallery for the 13th annual Swell Sculpture Festival, which kicks off this Friday.
Up to 60 sculptures built by local, national and international artists are stretched over 1km of the foreshore for the event which is on until the 20th of September.
The free exhibition is open all hours with a selection of sculptures revealing a new verve as they are lit up under the southern sky.

This year there is a definite Aussie theme to the pieces of art, with the highlights including a Hills Hoist, a wire Lion, and brightly painted car just to name a few.
Over the 10 days of the festival, visitors can experience the sculptures, enjoy twilight walks, informative artist talks, discover new perspectives, wander through the Swell Smalls Gallery and participate in artist master classes and childrens’ workshops.
Swell artists work across all mediums, and vie for awards of more than $25,000, including the coveted $15,000 SWELL Sculpture Award sponsored by The City of Gold Coast and highly popular $3,000 Currumbin Beach Vikings SLSC People’s Choice Award which is via a public vote and announced at 4pm on Sunday September 20.
