The Gold Coast Airport we all have come to know is set to change in a dramatic way when its $300 million redevelopment begins in just a few short months.
Images and an animated ‘fly-through’ of the planned development have now been released, following last night’s official launch of the upgrade, dubbed Project LIFT (Lets Invest for Tomorrow).

In released photos and ‘fly through’ video, Gold Coasters can see for the first time how the existing terminal building will be redeveloped and extended at the southern end.
The upgrade will also see the airport add four aerobridges and five additional aircraft parking stands with associated taxiways.
This first stage of the proposed redevelopment is set to be completed in late 2017 prior to the Commonwealth Games, with Stage 2 of the project to begin in 2020.
