Following the blue carpet arrivals and plenty of champagne, revellers were ushered towards the precinct’s grand staircase for the official proceedings.
A stunning performance by Queensland National Ballet students kicked off the speeches by AMP Capital CEO Adam Tindall and City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, before the ribbon cutting ceremony.

General Manager of Pacific Fair Brett Clarke told myGC the party was perfect way to celebrate almost four years of planning and construction. “We are exceptionally proud to officially unveil and showcase a $670 million total transformation and redevelopment,” he said.
The $670 million redevelopment of Pacific Fair has seen the centre grow from 98,000sq m to 155,000sq m. It is now the fourth largest shopping centre in the country and the biggest in Queensland.
