THE last known living search-and-rescue dog who worked at Ground Zero during the aftermath of the September 11 terror attacks has been thrown a 16th birthday party in appreciation for her work.
Bretagne, now 16, was tasked to help locate people trapped under the rubble after the horrifying terror attack in 2001.
In honour of her work, Bretagne was treated to a sweet 16th birthday party in New York City.

Bretagne was given the royal treatment, being transported to one of New York’s most luxurious hotels via limousine before being taken to Times Square where she was greeted by a billboard that read – “Happy Birthday to Bretagne” and thanked her and her owner Denise for their service on 9/11.
Bretagne also had a cobblestone dedicated to her at the 9/11 memorial plaza.
