A UK radio station have been praised after they invited an elderly man into their station for coffee after he phoned up to say he was missing his wife, who had just been put into a nursing home.
The 95-year-old was invited into the station on Wednesday after host Alex Dyke was taken back by the man’s phone call, in which he had told him he was “feeling lonely”.

“Bill phoned BBC Radio Solent, the stations facebook post said. “He was upset, lonely and missing his wife. Alex decided to invite him in. We sent a cab to pick him up.”
Bill, who lives in Southampton, only got married to his wife last year.
“We knew each other for 30-odd years and she needed a carer and I took over the role of carer,” Bill said.
“Then it became so involved we decided we’d get married.
“She fell over and hurt herself and went into hospital and she had to go into a nursing home, and I go down and I visit her every day.
