It’s the 30th birthday of the Gold Coast’s beloved Movie World, and theme park bosses are gifting us a whole range of presents including the country’s tallest WATERSLIDE!
They’re launching a new ‘Hooray for Hollywood’ event that will include bringing in props from old movies and it will be their largest ever parade.
“We’re bringing back some classic floats and vehicles that haven’t been seen in a long time that we’ve rediscovered,” Entertainment Manager Michael Croaker told Galey, Emily Jade and Christo this morning.

“We’re bringing back some characters that haven’t been seen since the early 90s which is really exciting for us!”
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, Gold Coast.
Village Roadshow later announced that they’re building the country’s tallest waterslide tower at Wet’n’Wild, which will be completed in time for summer!
Learn more about the new attractions in the video below:
The waterslide complex will be 23 metres high, featuring three new slides and a splash zone!
The KABOOM! will be the first Master Blaster and Tailspin slide in the Southern Hemisphere and guests will experience a 10-metre drop before spiralling down a 360degree corkscrew.
The DOUBLE BARREL is a heart-pounding slide that is set to become a crowd favourite.
The SUPER RIPPER are two new 12-metre high body slides that are not for the faint-hearted.
The H2OASIS is a tropical splash zone spanning 870m2 and will be a haven for the whole family.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the theme park gods still aren’t done with the surprises!
They’ve ALSO unveiled that new animals are on their way to Paradise Country: MEERKATS!
From June, Meerkats will have their own specially designed exhibit, and guest will be able to meet Mum Aya, big sister Sarabi and twins Keeya & Maliah.
All the projects have cost Village Roadshow around $70 million.
