Violent brawl lands 1 in hospital, 5 in handcuffs

ONE person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition and five others have been arrested following a violent street brawl in Sydney’s west.

The dramatic scenes played out at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Atkinson Street at Liverpool on Friday night.

Police said they were called to the scene just before 11.45pom following reports of a group of men fighting in the street.


When officers, they found a man in his 20s suffering from injuries to his head and chest.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being conveyed to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Four men and a woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station where they remained on Saturday morning, assisting police with their inquiries.
