VIRGIN Australia has warned customers to ignore scam phone calls offering free flights, points and prizes.
The airline has been inundated with reports members of the public are receiving unsolicited phone calls claiming to be from Virgin.
It’s understood a number of Australian businesses, including financial institutions and other airlines, have also been targeted.

“The calls may involve a ‘prize’ that requires your credit card information to be claimed. These calls are not from Virgin Australia,” Virgin said in a statement released on Friday afternoon.
“We strongly advise customers to hang up immediately if you suspect you have received a scam phone call.
“If you have provided your details, please contact your financial institution immediately.
The airline giant has assured its customers their personal data remains secure.
