Virgin plane forced to make emergency landing after colliding with bird
A Virgin Australia flight has been forced to make an emergency landing in Melbourne after hitting a large bird.
Flight VA319 was en-route to Brisbane when it struck what is believed to have been an eagle.
The pilot then made the decision to turn the aircraft around and safely landed the plane at Melbourne Airport around 9.45am on Friday.
Virgin say they are now working to get passengers on other flights to Brisbane as soon as possible.
