Wagga schools evacuated after caller threatens to blow them up

THREE schools in the NSW Riverina City of Wagga Wagga were evacuated on Friday morning after receiving threatening phone calls.

It’s understood someone phoned Mt Austin High School and two primary schools in Turvey Park and Ashmont in a space of just 10 minutes around 10am and threatened to blow them up.

All three schools were evacuated while police responded to the threats and searched the grounds.

The all clear was given a short time later after a search of the school grounds turned up empty handed.

An investigation has been launched to identify the hoax caller.
