Wallabies fans face blackout for the Spring Tour

Bad news for Wallabies fans, as the two upcoming Tests of the Spring Tour are not scheduled to be broadcast on Australian TV’s.

Both the highly anticipated test match against France in Paris in 19 days time, and much-hyped rematch with England in London on December 3, will not be shown on either free-to-air or pay-TV.

Unless broadcast deals are reached in the coming days, it will mark the first time a Wallabies Test match hasn’t been broadcast in Australia since 1984, when Alan Jones’s squad toured Fiji.

It comes as free-to-air networks all passed on buying rights to this years Spring Tour, and beIN Sports outbid Fox Sports to broadcast Wallabies games on subscription TV.

Network Ten have been the official free-to-air broadcaster for the Tests this year, and the World Cup last year, but elected to not buy any of the Spring Tour games.
