Just a few months ago, BMW Group Australia announced an exciting new partnership with the Australian Rugby Union team, The Wallabies.
The multi-year sponsorship agreement establishes BMW as the official vehicle partner of the Wallabies, and Australian Rugby Union, with the brand’s iconic roundel to be emblazoned on players’ shorts. The Australian partnership strengthens the luxury marque’s international presence on the rugby field, with similar partnerships in place in England, France and South Africa.
Combining passion and performance both on and off the field, with two of Australia’s most prominent brands, the synergy between the two organisations is undeniable.

Off the back of this exciting new partnership, Bruce Lynton Automotive Group is delighted to announce that Rob Simmons, one of the Wallabies’ most prominent team members, has become a BMW Brand Ambassador for the Group.
At the age of just 26, Rob is already in his fifth season as an Australian Wallaby, with 52 Test caps to his name. Standing tall at 200cm and 115kg, Rob was born and raised a country boy in the tiny central Queensland town of Theodore, 220km inland from Rockhampton on the banks of the Dawson River.
Rob’s love of rugby was inspired by his childhood idol, legendary Queensland lock John Eales.
Rob attended The Southport School on the Gold Coast where he, himself, went on to play as lock. It was here that he soared through the ranks of the national junior teams, starting with Australian Schools in 2006 and then later Under-19s in 2007 and Under-20s in 2008.
It was in South Africa in 2009 where Rob made his Super Rugby debut for Queensland and then later in 2010 he progressed to the starting line-up for the Reds and eventually the Wallabies. In 2013 he played in 14 out of a possible 15 Tests, only missing one due to injury. Rob’s successful career with the Wallabies has continued ever since.
Beric Lynton, Dealer Principal of Bruce Lynton Automotive Group, is delighted to have Rob representing the Group, commenting:
“Rob is highly respected as a professional rugby player as well as an individual, and once you meet him in person, it’s easy to understand why. I believe he is a great fit with our brand and we look forward to working closely with him over the next few months to further promote the Bruce Lynton Automotive Group and the BMW brand. We wish the Wallabies the best of luck in the World Cup!”
