Wanted woman leads police on second chase on the Gold Coast

A WANTED woman has allegedly led police on another chase through the streets of the Gold Coast.

It’s understood Sarah Jane Boyd, 28, was spotted by officers travelling on Queen Street in Southport in a Holden Commodore wagon around 6.30pm last night, sparking a full scale man-hunt.

The Pol Air and multiple marked and unmarked cars allegedly followed Ms Boyd for around two-and-a-half hours from Southport to Hope Island.

The pursuit was called off about 8.50pm with Boyd last seen travelling south on the M1.

It comes after Ms Boyd was allegedly involved in another high-speed police chase through Pacific Pines on Sunday night.

She and her 19-year-old alleged accomplice, Joel Gillard, were on the run after attempting to rob the 7-Eleven on Binstead Way about 3.30am and robbing and assaulting a taxi driver with a tomahawk at Helensvale about 4am.

Mr Gillard appeared in Southport Court yesterday where he was refused bail on numerous charges.

Anyone with information or who may have seen Ms Boyd is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000.
