Businesses in the Coomera area are being urged to be on the lookout for fake $50 notes.
In a warning statement released by police, officers said there had been an inundation of the fakes doing the rounds in the area.
“Businesses and members of the public need to be vigilant when taking $50 notes as payment,” police said.

“Some notes are obviously fake and of very poor quality, but others are very hard to detect due to their superior reproduction.”

Police have urged anyone who comes across the fake $50 notes to contact Policelink or their nearest police station.
