A suspicious substance found on board a Qantas flight at Sydney Airport has turned out to be something far less sinister than first thought.
Emergency crews were called to the Qantas terminal around 10am after the substance was found in the baggage hold of an aircraft.
Hazmat crews examined the contents and deemed it to be non-suspicious, with reports it was simply washing powder.

Passengers on board the flight, which was bound for Brisbane, were evacuated and transferred onto another plane.
