A touching animated short film about a teenage boy coming out as gay is warming hearts around the globe.
The viral video, titled ‘In a Heartbeat’, was made by US animation students Beth David and Esteban Bravo as part of their student thesis project, however has quickly turned into something bigger.

“This film is not only a culmination of our four years of education and hard work at the college, but also an expression of a subject that has not been explored in computer animation,” the pair wrote on kickstarter, a project crowdfunding website.
“It’s a film that deals with a real and personal topic in a very sweet and lighthearted way and we are so excited to be able to share it with you!”
To put it quickly, the short film revolves around Sherwin, a shy redhead who “runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams”.
The beautiful clip has had more than 13 million views on YouTube in just 5 days.
