The Australian PGA Championship kicks off on Thursday, with four huge action packed days planned both on and off the course.
CCO of PGA Australia Steve Ayles said it’s set to be a spectacular few days of golfing action. “Everyone is excited. The field is great, the weather is great – the Gold Coast has really turned it on this year,” he said.

Four of the top-5 Australians in the World will compete for the Kirkwood Cup, including local favourite Adam Scott. He will be joined by Scott Hend, Marcus Fraser, Marc Leishman and last year’s champion Nathan Holman. Taking on the Aussies at the tournament will be 12 time European Tour winner Ian Poulter, and Young American Harold Varner III.
“We have a very strong line-up. Adam Scott has come home to his home town and will be playing the course he loves. We are certainly expecting big things from him – he has won it in the past and finished runner-up,” Mr Ayles said.
There will be plenty of action away from the course with daily live entertainment within the hospitality areas and at the Tag Heuer Stage every night from 5pm including Aussie icon Shannon Noll on Saturday 3 December.
If that wasn’t enough, this Sunday things will get really exciting at the Soniq Million Dollar Hole. Any Pro player to ace the par-3 16th will walk away with $500,000 for themselves and will win $500,000 in cash and prizes for one lucky fan as part of the Golden Caddy Bib competition.
The Australian PGA Championship will be played at RACV Royal Pines Resort from 1-4 December. For more information on the Australian PGA Championship, visit: championship.pga.org.au/
