WATCH: Aussie man becomes best friends with rescue joey in viral video
An Australian man has formed a surprise relationship, becoming best friends with a joey he rescued from the side of the road.
Jackson ODoherty took to social media last week, posting a video of ‘a day in the life’ of the newly found besties.
In the clip, the adorable joey, dubbed ‘Damian’ can be seen helping to build sand castles, going shopping, heading to work and even being bottle fed while dressed in mittens and a beanie.
The video has since gone viral with more than 41 million views and hundreds of comments.
“That’s what every non-Aussie would assume you guys do in ‘Straya, mate: having a roo as pet, lol. Awesome video, and super cute roo!” one user wrote.
WATCH:
In an interview on Channel Nine on Tuesday morning, ODoherty explained that he rescued the roo after finding his mother had been killed after being struck by a car.
