Like many Gold Coast businesses, the latest Covid outbreak and lockdown has seen Village Roadshow Theme Parks close its doors to patrons once again.
“It’s a very difficult time for us, but our work never stops,” Bikash Randhawa, COO of Village Roadshow Theme Parks, told myGC.
Mr Randhawa said despite the lockdown, they are still on track to deliver a number of new attractions in the coming months, including a new meerkat exhibit and café at Paradise Country.

“We are very, very close to finishing. It will be a brand new, beautiful home for the meerkats… and it will be quite a unique experience for the Gold Coast.
“We also have the brand new, tallest waterslide at Wet’n’Wild, obviously the Atlantis at Sea World with the Trident and the wooden coaster, and there are a whole bunch of things we have planned for when we re-open.
“You are in for a very big treat here Gold Coast.”
With hundreds of animals to tend to at both Paradise Country, Australian Outback Spectacular and Sea World, Mr Randhawa said staff have still been popping in to ensure the animals are safe, happy and engaged.
“Our animals will always get that special attention that they deserve whether we are open or closed. They are being looked after exceptionally well,” he said.
