WATCH: CCTV released as Police hunt Southport armed robber

Police investigating an armed robbery at a Southport service station this week have released footage of the incident as they continue to search for a man involved.

The man armed with a knife entered the servo on Marine Parade around 11.20am on Wednesday.

He  managed to get behind the counter before rummaging through cupboards.

A 23-year-old female employee confronted the man, before he pulled out his knife and threatened her.

The man stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

He was last seen running down High St.

The man is described as 160cm tall and was wearing grey tracksuit pants with a stripe down the side, a dark blue hooded jumper, dark beanie, white socks with blue and white stripe ‘Adidas’ slip-on shoes.

Police are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man in the footage to contact them.
