WATCH: Chris Hemsworth gives hitchhiker a lift to Byron Bay – via helicopter!

This is what dreams are made of.

Hitchhiking can be risky business, but this one tourist would be thanking his lucky stars that he decided to hit the road after he was picked up by one of the world’s most famous actors.

Thor star Chris Hemsworth was heading back to Byron Bay from Brisbane Airport on Friday, when him and his pal Luke Zocchi spotted a hitchhiker heading to the same destination.

“We’re going to Byron, we’ll give him a lift,” Hemsworth says in a video of the encounter which he posted to his Instagram page on Monday.

In the clip, the pair then pull over to pick up the hitchhiker, American musician Scott Hildebrand, and break the news that they’re actually taking a private chopper to the famous surf spot.

“No way!” a shocked Hildebrand says to the pair in disbelief.

The video, which Hemsworth captioned: “Picked up a hitchhiker, wasn’t a serial killer which we were stoked about and just happened to be a kick ass musician Scott Hildebrand” has already racked up nearly two million views.

So… I think I might start hitchhiking.
