“This is a gold medal winning project for our Games, supporting hundreds of jobs and engaging local contractors,” the Premier said.

“This world-class sporting venue is part of an important legacy of community infrastructure for South East Queensland that will help attract elite athletes and prestige events to the State.”

The centre will have a test-run when it hosts the World Mixed Badminton Team Championships in May, along with the FIVB World League Volleyball competition.
