“Oh my god I won!” an emotional Denyer said when accepting the prestigious Gold Logie from last year’s winner, actor Samuel Johnson.
When explaining what the win meant to him, the former Sunrise weatherman said it “means the world.”
“I’ll tell you why this is important… Family Feud came along at a time in my life when I wasn’t sure if I’d ever work again, or if I even wanted to,” a brutally honest Denyer admitted.
“I wasn’t in a very good place. I wasn’t very well. I was in a bit of a hole.
“I was pretty sad, I was a bit lost … in fact I was very unwell and Family Feud gave me a ladder out of that hole and I’m very lucky to have had it. ”
