Gold Coasters can enjoy Olympic events live on a giant screen in Kurrawa Park as they unfold in Tokyo.

The Gold Coast Olympic Live Site presented by Westpac will be open daily 8am to 8pm until August 8, giving locals the chance to experience all the fun of Games.

With only a one-hour time difference between Japan and Australia, Gold Coast fans will be able to sit back, relax and catch all of the action live on the big screen in the precinct.

“This will be a great opportunity to get into the spirit of the biggest sporting event on earth,” Mayor Tom Tate told myGC.

“For the next two weeks, we are going to be here watching the Olympics on the big screen – Excitement as if you are there in Tokyo.”

Australian Olympic Committee CEO, Matt Carroll said the Gold Coast Olympic Live Site presented a great opportunity for Australians to unite through sport and cheer on our Olympians.

“We’re really excited to see the Gold Coast embracing Olympics Live, and I thank Mayor Tom Tate for supporting the ongoing development of sport within their community,” Mr Carroll said.

“This will be about much more than people coming together to cheer on our athletes and engage with Olympic sport.

“Olympics Live will present an opportunity to re-connect as a community and embrace the Olympic spirit.”
