If you are a food lover you are in for treat as Robina Town Centre’s $160 million food playground ‘The Kitchens’ has officially opened it’s doors today! Hurrah!

A mouth-watering spread of fresh food retailers, cafes, bars and restaurants have set up shop, making The Kitchens the perfect place for local foodies to eat, meet, sip, cook and play.

There is something to suit everyone’s tastebuds, from masterfully crafted wood-fired pizzas and hand-made pasta, to traditional teppanyaki, fiery Thai dishes, South-American and Greek street food, New York style bagels – the list goes on.

Curator of The Kitchens Mr Daniel West,  says the launch of The Kitchens is a momentous occasion for the Centre as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. “Today’s opening of The Kitchens is the culmination of our long-term vision that recognises the pivotal role fresh food plays in our modern lives and, particularly, in our local community. The Kitchens is a place to celebrate fresh, local produce, but also an urban marketplace from which passionate providores, growers and suppliers can showcase, share and inspire.”

Reinforcing The Kitchens’ commitment to showcasing local talent, Australian food heavyweights including George Calombaris have set up shop alongside a bevy of renowned local restaurateurs and chefs, including Trent Scarr of Honeyeater Kitchen, James Brady of Mr Pigs Bakehouse and Akira Takagi of Muso Ramen Noodle & Gyoza Bar, as well as some fresh faces to the Gold Coast food scene, like the team at Eshai Teahouse and Crafted Coffee Co.

To celebrate its highly anticipated opening, this weekend The Kitchens is rolling out an exciting line up of entertainment including cooking workshops, musical performances, art installations and an outdoor cinema. Celebrity chefs Alistair McLeod, MasterChef Australia 2016 runner-up Matt Sinclair, Gerard’s Bistro Head Chef Ben Williamson and The Kitchens’ resident chef Samantha Gowing will also be cooking up a storm live in the purpose built kitchen.
