WATCH: Gold Coast motorcyclist busted speeding while drunk

An Upper Coomera man has been busted allegedly drink-driving on his motorbike after he unknowingly sped past police before performing a burn-out right infront of them.

Officers were patrolling the M1 at Loganholme in an unmarked police car around 10.00pm last Saturday when the man allegedly sped past their car at 163 kilometers per hour in a 100km/h zone.

Police tracked the motorbike to Loganlea Road where it stopped at a red-light before conducting a burn-out and losing control.

The man, aged 41, was arrested and charged with mid-range drink driving.

He was also fined for high-end speeding, wilful damage and failing to comply with the COVID-19 Public Health Direction.

He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 24.
