A 7-year-old girl in the US is inspiring thousands of people around the globe with her positive outlook on being born with Down Syndrome.

Little Sofia Sanchez spent the first 14 months of her life in a Ukraine orphanage after being abandoned at birth.


In 2010, she was adopted by her forever mum and dad, who have since provided her with the love and care that has enabled her to thrive.

In a heart-warming video uploaded to Instagram for Down Sydnrome Awareness month, Sofia explains that Down Syndrome is ‘not scary at all’ and that it’s ‘so exciting’.


The adorable clip has been viewed more than 20,000 times and has been flooded with hundreds of comments.
